HENRI CARTIER BRESSON          Lincoln Nebraska Legislature - Life 1957

In March 1957 Cartier Bresson travels to Lincoln, Nebraska to document the 68th Session of the Nebraska Legislature. The unique nature of this legislative is that it is the only State in the USA to have a single chamber, and elected representatives have no party allegiances. This structure allows Nebraskan citizens closer access to the machinations of local governement. HCB photographs the huddles of constituents in heated debate with their 'Senator', and proceedings stop to celebrate the second birthday of the son of one of the Senators.
Life published 24 of HCB's photographs.
