RENE BURRI                         LOOK - April 9 1963 Cuba, Che Guevara, Fidel Castro

OUT OF STOCK
Rene Burri was only allowed into Cuba as a European, as no American photographers were admitted into Cuba. He travelled with Henri Cartier Bresson (Life) for Look magazine. They both tracked Che Guevara down to the Hotel Riviera. Burri accompanied a journalist for a two hour interview with Guevara in his office. Burri shot eight rolls of film without being noticed. His outstanding portrait came as Che sat back in his seat after lighting his cigar. This iconic image was used (cropped poorly) along with 22 of Burri's other images.
