MARGARET BOURKE WHITE          Life 1942 - 97th BG USAAF-Polebrook

'Margaret Bourke White documented the 97th Bomb Group based at Polebrook. The 97th BG were the first USAAF heavy bomebr unit to go operational when they bombed Rouen on the 17th August 1942. The article also features B17, "Big Bitch" piloted by Lt. Bob jackson which was lost in action two days after the Life article was published. MBW was also given the honour of naming a B17 the "Flying Flitgun" which she christened with a bottle of coke.
The magazine has some age related wear to the front cover. There are two small rubbed holes.
