Robert Capa Vu La Sarre 7th November 1934

Andre Friedmann accompanied Gorta to Saarland in September 1934. The brief was to document the people of Saarland prior to their vote on unification with Germany in January 1935.
In Saarbruken, Friedmann photographed evident signs of Nazi support.
The story appears in Vu 7/11/34, with the credit "Text and photos by our special envoy Gorta." Freidmann received no credit, and due to his own demands, a further article appeared in Vu 21/11/34 with the credit "Interviews and photos by our special envoys Gorta and Friedmann"
